[FREE TRAINING] Writing Better Facebook Ads In Three Easy Steps
I wrote my first pay per click ad in the 1990’2 when Overture existed. For those of you who are just starting out, this is the company that used to dominate before two guys left college and pursued their dream to create something called Google. If we add up the amount of years I’ve been in business times a minimum of 30-40 ads per week, that means I’ve written well over 50,000 pay per click ads. You can imagine my concerns when a new student in my small business classes gets frustrated when they can’t ‘make it work’ after the first 30 days, or the first 5 ads, or the first 2 training videos.
In a college level classroom we’d never expect to learn things instantly. Can you imagine what it would be like to be in Pre-Med pursuing a career as a doctor and thinking that by the fourth week of your classes you should be able to participate in a surgery? That sounds ridiculous doesn’t it? Ironically this is how some people approach Facebook Ads. They think there’s an equation they can follow, without ever connecting with real live people, and they believe (erroneously) that they should be able to succeed overnight.
Now that we’ve settled how ridiculous this is, let me share with you three easy tips to writing better Facebook ads quickly, WHILE you’re learning how to market, identify your ideal client, speak in their voice and present an offer to them that they can’t refuse.
Writing Better Facebook Ads In Three Easy Steps
- Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. If you’ve never done marketing before, this is not the time to get creative! Do what others are doing who have ridiculous success! This is why I share so much of what we’ve been doing. If someone were to just copy 50% of what is taught rather than trying to be super creative on their own, add some of the tips given for reading magazines and websites, their conversion would go WAY up! Even in Pre-Med we’d be following methods and paths from other doctors and professors that are proven to helping save lives. ONLY after we’d done that to expert level would we be then stepping into creative ways to solve big problems. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Grab 20-30 magazines from a local library that is catered to your audience and swipe a few headlines! It’s really the best way to get momentum going.
- Target the right people. Putting the best copy and the best offer in front of the wrong people will ruin your campaigns. It’s crucial that you are targeting the right people. Remember, don’t try to reinvent the wheel. The same magazines you are reading and gleaning from are filled with advertisers paying tens of thousands of dollars to target YOUR ideal client. Pull up this advertisers Facebook page and InstaGram in Audience Insights in the ad manager or in FanPageKarma. Why are you guessing? They spent money and took time to target the right people. Target THEIR people on Facebook. Get it? 🙂
- Don’t go big, micro-niche your way to success! With a budget of $10-15 per day, we can’t keep pulling up big audiences thinking we’re reaching more people. We’re not! We are getting lost in the sea of faces. It’s better to micro-niche target 5-8 groups of people who have less than 100,000 followers than thinking you’ll get the best reach targeting over 4 million people. Marketing is a skill that is taught and caught. When we focus on the methods that are proven and do work, we can CATCH strategies.
